As part of their ongoing efforts to become 100% sustainable, SIGG Switzerland, the world leader in eco-friendly, reusable bottles, is introducing a new coating technology for the inside of their popular bottles coined the SIGG EcoCare Liner. “The team of Swiss engineers at SIGG is constantly pushing for innovation,” states Steve Wasik, SIGG CEO. “Our new bottle liner is not only a technological advance, it’s a major step forward in our journey towards sustainability.”
The new manufacturing process employs a powder coating technology which ensures virtually no waste and uses no organic solvents (VOCs). Like SIGG’s previous high performance bottle liner, the new SIGG EcoCare Liner ensures no taste or odor transfer and leach-free durability. This new liner has been thoroughly tested and is certified to be 100% free of BPA, phthalates, BADGE, BFDGE, and NOGE.
The SIGG EcoCare Liner is a bake-on, polymer powder coating which is sprayed evenly onto the bottle interior and bonded to the aluminum shell at nearly 200 degrees Celsius to form a permanent, flexible barrier. Just 40 microns thick, this coating comprises only a few grams per bottle and in no way interferes with the ultimate recycling of your SIGG.
“Switzerland is often recognized as the most environmentally conscious country in the world and we are committed to upholding that reputation,” states Steve Wasik, SIGG CEO. “All SIGG-branded water bottles are manufactured directly by us at our own factory in Frauenfeld Switzerland, enabling us to control our high quality standards as well as ensuring that manufacturing takes place with the very least impact to the environment. Most of our competitors utilize 3rd party manufacturers in China and cannot make this same claim.”
