Professional surfer Kelly Slater is excited to be crowned ASP World Champion 2008, an event supported by SIGG Switzerland. SIGG produced 600 special limited-edition “Simply Eco-Logical” bottles with the ASP logo on the back. In 1992, 19-year-old Slater became the youngest surfer to win the world championship. At the same time he appeared in several episodes of the TV series Baywatch. Between 1994 and 1998, he dominated the professional circuit, winning five titles in a row before announcing his retirement in 1998 because he had achieved everything. In 2004, when he made his comeback, he did not win any competition. Four years later, however, the American won his ninth championship, making him the most successful surf champion in the history of the sport.
