Alison Elizabeth "Ali" Larter was born in New Jersey on February 28, 1976. She began a modeling career when she was only fourteen. When she came of age, she moved to Los Angeles with her boyfriend and started taking acting lessons.

From 1997, she appeared in various TV series, followed by her first appearance on the big screen two years later in Varsity Blues, a commercially successful teenage and football drama.

She is also well known for her roles in films such as House on Haunted Hill, Final Destination, Legally Blonde, American Outlaws, Resident Evil: Extinction and Obsessed.
